Men's tailoring software for measurements, orders and thobe tailoring
Last updated:
MQDAR (مقدار) is cloud-based men's tailoring software for thobe and tailoring shops: one system for customer measurements and designs, orders, cutter and tailor stages, invoices, the printed workshop sheet and order tracking on the customer's phone.
MQDAR is built for men's thobe tailoring shops and tailoring workshops in Saudi Arabia, from a single shop to a multi-branch business. It runs in the browser on phones and computers with nothing to install, and its interface is in Arabic, English and Urdu. It is specialised because it treats a thobe as a template with measurement fields and design options, and keeps each person's measurements and design — the customer and every dependant — per template, instead of treating a piece as a product sold by quantity.
What is men's tailoring software?
Men's tailoring software runs a thobe and menswear tailoring shop: it keeps customer measurements and designs, records orders with due dates, follows the cutting and sewing stages through to handover, and issues invoices and records payments. The unit of work is a piece tailored to someone's measurements, not an item taken from stock.
What are the benefits of tailoring software?
Tailoring software cuts tailoring mistakes and front-desk time: measurements and designs are saved for every customer so nothing starts from scratch, each order moves between cutter and tailor with a clear stage and a visible due date, and the invoice tracks paid and remaining amounts so unpaid orders are not handed over. The shop knows at any moment where every thobe is and whose it is.
Why is MQDAR specialised for men's tailoring?
- Measurements and design per person and template: the customer and every dependant (son, brother) keep their own measurements and design for each template, with no mixing between people or templates.
- Three choices when a customer returns: reuse the previous measurements and design, reuse the measurements only with a new design, or start fresh — separately for each person in the order.
- One order for several people and pieces: the customer and dependants share one order and one invoice, up to 20 people and 60 pieces.
- Cutter, then tailor: each claims only the orders for their stage, and every move between stages is logged.
- Workshop sheet without prices: each piece's measurements and details, in the order and layout the workshop chooses.
- Order tracking on the phone: a page where customers see their order stage and due date.
- Branches and daily capacity: a production limit per branch in pieces, shown when choosing the due date.
- Three languages: an Arabic, English and Urdu interface for multinational tailoring teams.
Can customer measurements and designs be saved?
Yes. With every order MQDAR saves each person's measurements and design — collar, cuffs, pockets, buttons, details and notes — per template. When the customer returns, staff choose for each person in the order:
- Reuse the previous measurements and design from the latest order with the same template.
- Reuse the measurements only with a new design.
- Completely new measurements and design.
The data is copied into the new order as an independent copy, so editing it never changes the old order, and every dependant keeps a record separate from the main customer. The customer profile shows the latest measurements and design per person and template (customer profiles).
Customer measurements
- Thobe template: measurement fields such as length, shoulder, sleeve, neck, chest and waist, in inches or centimetres, ordered the way the shop prefers.
- Measurement memory: on the customer's next order staff choose to reuse their last measurements (with or without the design) or take new ones, then change only what is different.
- Dependants' measurements: every son or relative added to the order keeps their own measurements and design.
The full picture of measurement fields and templates is on customer measurements.

Thobe tailoring software that keeps measurements and designs
- Design options: categories such as collar, cuffs, pockets and buttons, with single or multiple choice, saved with the order.
- Pricing: thobe price = template price + selected options, multiplied by quantity. Changing prices later does not change past orders. To estimate a thobe's cost and profit before setting its price, use the thobe cost calculator.
- Fabric per piece: each thobe has its own fabric and an optional note, and thobes with different fabric are never merged on the printout.
Example: three thobes for a customer and two for his son.
- Staff type the customer's mobile number; his details and saved dependants appear, and staff pick who joins this order.
- They choose the thobe template with quantity 3 and reuse the customer's previous measurements and design or take new ones; each thobe gets a tab and the differences are edited.
- The son is added as a saved or new dependant inside the same order with his own measurements, design and thobes.
- The whole order is saved with one number and one invoice, and a workshop sheet prints for every piece.
How does tailoring software manage an order from measuring to handover?
- Intake: staff type the customer's mobile number and his details and saved dependants appear.
- Measurements and design: for each person and template, reuse the previous record or take new measurements and a new design.
- Due date and value: the due date is chosen while the branch's daily capacity is shown, and a first payment can be recorded.
- Cutting: the cutter claims the order from their stage's queue, with the workshop sheet without prices.
- Sewing: the tailor claims the order after cutting.
- Ready: the order becomes ready and the customer sees its status on the tracking page.
- Handover: handover completes only after full payment.
Every order has a number, status and due date, with filters for late orders and orders due soon (tailoring orders). An order pickup screen helps the front desk when the customer arrives.

Cutter, tailor and production stages
- Order stages can be edited; the default flow starts with cutting, then sewing, then ready and handover.
- The cutter claims the order from their stage's queue, then the tailor claims it after cutting; each person sees only their own stage's orders.
- Every move between stages is logged with who moved the order and when.
- The workshop sheet has no prices, and its sections and measurements can be ordered the way the workshop prefers.
Stage and assignment details are on workflow and stages.
Order tracking for customers on their phone
In plans that include tracking, the customer opens the tracking page on the shop's link and enters their mobile number to see the order stage, due date and remaining balance without calling. The page never shows measurements or notes (order tracking).
Central automatic WhatsApp notifications from MQDAR (order registered and ready for pickup) in the customer's language are coming soon in the Pro plan.
Thobe measurements with ¼, ½ and ¾ fractions
Next to every measurement field there is a small fraction picker: none, ¼, ½ or ¾. The value is stored as an exact number (24 and ½ = 24.5) and reaches the workshop sheet and the cutter and tailor screens unchanged. It works in inches and centimetres, switching units never alters the stored value, and older non-quarter values (such as 24.3) are kept as they are.
Men's garment templates
Each garment the shop makes has its own template with its measurement fields and design options: Saudi, Qatari, Kuwaiti and Emirati (kandura) thobes, dishdasha and other menswear. You choose templates from the MQDAR library within your plan's template limit, and each template and option has its own price, so the thobe price is calculated automatically.
Fabric inventory and ready-made products
- Fabric: reserved when the order is approved and issued with the work stages, by metre or yard and rolls, at weighted average cost (fabric inventory).
- Customer fabric: orders can use the customer's own fabric without touching shop stock.
- Direct sales: sell perfumes, caps, prayer beads and ready fabric from stock, on their own or added to the tailoring order on one invoice (direct sales and POS).
Invoices and payments
- Every order gets an invoice automatically, and part payments are recorded until it is fully paid.
- VAT-registered businesses issue a simplified tax invoice, signed locally, with the ZATCA QR code.
- VAT-registered business customers receive a standard tax invoice with buyer details.
- Returns and corrections after issue use a linked credit or debit note; the original invoice is never edited.
- Offers, coupons and permission-based manual discounts are applied before VAT and shown on the invoice.
- Ready for integration with the ZATCA FATOORA platform for registered businesses.

Branches and customers
- Branches: each branch keeps its own orders and daily capacity within your plan's limit (branch management).
- Customers: one profile per customer with mobile number, measurements, designs, dependants, orders, invoices and balance, plus statements, duplicate merging and Excel import.
What is the difference between dedicated tailoring software and general accounting software?
General accounting software sells ready-made items and counts stock, while dedicated tailoring software manages a piece made later to one person's measurements and design that passes through stages before handover. In detail:
- Measurements and design: general software does not keep every customer's and dependant's measurements and design per template, or let you reuse them on the next order.
- Design details: collar, cuff and pocket choices need a template per garment type, not a notes field.
- Tailoring stages: an order goes through the cutter and the tailor before handover; general software only knows sold or not sold.
- Workshop sheet: the tailor needs measurements without prices, and the customer needs an invoice without workshop details.
FAQ
What is men's tailoring software?
Men's tailoring software runs a men's thobe tailoring shop: it keeps every customer's measurements and thobe design, records the order with its due date, follows it between cutter and tailor through to handover, and issues the invoice and records payments. MQDAR is one example of this kind of software and runs in the cloud from the browser.
What type of software is best for running a men's tailoring shop?
The best fit is dedicated tailoring software rather than general accounting software: it keeps measurements and design per person and template, handles orders with several pieces and dependants, follows cutting and sewing stages, and prints a workshop sheet without prices. Test it with real orders from your shop before subscribing, and compare plan limits clearly.
Does tailoring software save customer measurements?
Yes. MQDAR saves every customer's measurements for each garment template, in inches or centimetres and in the order the shop prefers. When the customer returns, staff choose to reuse the last measurements or take new ones, and past orders keep the measurements recorded at the time, untouched by any later edit.
Can the customer's design be saved with the measurements?
Yes. Each piece is saved with its design: collar, cuffs, pockets, buttons, details and notes. On the next order staff can reuse the previous measurements and design together from the latest order with the same template, reuse the measurements only with a new design, or start fresh, separately for each person.
Does the software support dependants?
Yes. A customer's sons or relatives are added as dependants inside the same order, and every dependant has a fixed record with their own measurements and design per template, even without a mobile number. Saved dependants appear when searching by the customer's mobile number, and staff pick only those joining the current order.
Can the cutter and tailor stages be followed?
Yes. Every order has a clear stage, and the default flow is cutting, then sewing, then ready and handover. The cutter claims the order from their stage's queue, then the tailor claims it after cutting, each sees only their own stage's orders, and every move between stages is logged with who moved it and when.
Can customers follow their order on their phone?
Yes, in plans that include tracking. The customer opens the tracking page on the shop's link and enters their mobile number to see the order stage, due date and remaining balance without calling the shop. The page never shows measurements, notes or other customers' data.
Does the software work on phones and computers?
Yes. MQDAR runs in the browser on phones, computers and tablets without installing anything, and every business has its own link. The interface is available in Arabic, English and Urdu, and there is currently no app in the app stores, so nothing needs to be downloaded.
Can I manage more than one branch?
Yes, within your plan's branch limit. Each branch keeps its own orders and daily capacity in pieces, and the remaining capacity is shown when choosing the due date. The business manages its branches, staff and permissions from one account, and every employee sees only what their permissions allow.
What is the difference between tailoring software and general accounting software?
General accounting software records sales and stock for ready-made items, while tailoring software manages a piece tailored later: it keeps each person's measurements and design per template, follows the order between cutter and tailor, prints a workshop sheet without prices separate from the customer's invoice, and blocks handover before payment.
