Tailor measurement software: keep every customer's measurements
Last updated:
Tailoring measurement software keeps each customer's measurements for every garment type (thobe, shalwar kameez, abaya, suit), reuses them on the next order and prints them for the workshop without copying by hand.
In MQDAR, measurements are recorded inside the order for each piece and saved to the customer's profile automatically, so the tailor never starts from zero and numbers do not get lost in a notebook or a phone photo.
The problem it solves
• Measurements written on paper or scattered across chats.
• Measuring the customer again on every visit, or relying on memory.
• Mistakes when copying numbers from the front desk to the workshop.
• Design details (collar, pockets, buttons) reaching the tailor incomplete.
How measurements work in MQDAR
1. Search for the customer by phone; returning customers show their measurements from the last invoice.
2. Choose one of your business's templates (such as thobe, shalwar kameez, abaya or suit) and the quantity for each person.
3. Enter measurements in inches or centimetres; shaded fields come from the last invoice for the same template, so you only change what is different.
4. Choose the design and style options; some options can have extra measurements.
5. The workshop sheet prints the measurements and details in the order you arranged them, with no prices.
Templates and catalog
• Ready templates from the MQDAR library, including thobe, shalwar kameez, abaya and suit.
• Your business picks its templates in the setup assistant, up to the clothing-template limit of your plan (plans and pricing); adding templates later goes through the MQDAR team.
• Measurement fields defined per template in settings, with drag-and-drop ordering.
• Design categories (collar, pockets, buttons and more) with single or multiple choice, each option with its own price and details.
• Piece price = template price + selected options, multiplied by quantity. Changing prices later does not change past orders.
Several people, several pieces
• Add a dependant (son, brother and so on) inside the order, each with their own measurements and pieces.
• For a thobe × 3, each piece gets its own tab, and you can copy the first piece's measurements and edit the rest.
• Limit: 20 people and 60 pieces per order.
Who it helps
• Men's tailoring shops where the same customer orders thobes again and again.
• Women's tailoring workshops (abayas, dresses) with detailed measurements.
• Workshops where cutters and tailors work away from the front desk.
Fractions in measurements
Next to each measurement there is a small fraction picker — none, ¼, ½ or ¾ — so the value is saved as an exact number (24 and ½ = 24.5) and shows the same on the order, the workshop sheet and the cutter and tailor screens. Older values that are not quarters stay exactly as they are.
FAQ
Can I record measurements in inches and centimetres?
Yes. The unit is inches or centimetres, and the same unit appears on the workshop sheet.
Are a customer's measurements saved for next time?
Yes. Saved measurements in the customer profile update automatically from their orders and appear on their next order for the same template.
Can I add my own template or measurement field?
You pick clothing templates from the MQDAR library up to your plan's limit; adding a template later goes through the MQDAR team. Measurement fields, design options and their prices for each template are edited in the templates and designs settings.
Can I edit saved measurements directly in the customer profile?
The profile view is read-only and updates from orders. To change them, create a new order with the same template and edit the measurements there; they are saved for next time.
