Tailoring workflow: from cutting to delivery

Last updated:

A tailoring workflow is the sequence of stages every order goes through — intake, cutting, sewing, ready and delivery — with one clear owner for each stage at any moment.

The MQDAR workflow shows where each order stands and who is responsible for it right now. It applies to the whole order with all its pieces and does not allow skipping a stage.

The problem it solves

  • Cutters and tailors do not know which order to start with.
  • Two people working on the same order, or an order nobody is working on.
  • The owner cannot see how many orders are at cutting and how many at sewing.

The default path

Order received → cutting → cut → sewing → sewn → ready for delivery → delivered.

You can edit the stages: add, remove or reorder them, link each stage to a job title (cutter, tailor, reception and so on) and set the expected hours.

How orders move between staff

  1. A new order appears under "my stage orders" for every cutter.
  2. A cutter taps "claim order" so it becomes theirs alone, then "cut" once all pieces are done.
  3. The order moves to the tailors' list in the same way: claim, then "sewn".
  4. Reception confirms all pieces have arrived and the order becomes "ready for delivery".
  5. Delivery to the customer happens only after full payment.

No employee can claim an order a colleague has already claimed, and an order can be paused with a reason.

Daily production capacity

Each branch has a daily production limit counted in pieces, not orders. When you pick a due date you see what is booked and what remains for each day. You can lock the limit so orders over it are refused, or allow overflow with a warning. Branches in detail

By plan

  • All plans: editing stages and job titles, moving to the next stage, pausing and cancelling with a reason.
  • Higher plans: moving back to an earlier stage, manual assignment, an active orders screen and copying workflows. See plans and pricing.

FAQ

Why can't an employee see all orders?

Visibility follows job titles and stages: cutters see cutting orders, tailors see them after cutting is finished. Managers and users with full order permission see everything.

Can a stage be skipped?

No, orders move in sequence. In higher plans an order can be returned to an earlier stage or assigned manually.

Can I rename the stages?

Yes, in the workflow settings, on every plan.
